The Pace family knows hospitality and they do it well. They have been doing it for 100 years. They really out did themselves this year by adding creative extras, which pushed it… over the top!
We had the perfect fall weather which was a great beginning to a long fun day. The event had 110 golfers registered who were treated like kings and queens for the day. Guests were given gifts as they checked in, then directed into the club house where they were offered a full breakfast. Guests were offered the use of the facilities such as the locker room, range and putting green. The Shot Gun start was at 11am and the elaborate barbeque was ready to go in time for lunch. A Cigar Bar was available for attendee’s enjoyment and the Pace’s also set up an outdoor bar to treat their guests to cocktails. On the course, several contests were going on all day; including the prized “Hole in One” for each par 3. As the golf day came to a close, the party began.
Over 150 people joined the festivities for a cocktail hour on the outside patio that overlooks the Nissequogue River and golf course. The Pace family hired musicians to play, while enjoying the open seafood bar. The food never seemed to stop, as the Pace family brought in their chef, from Pace’s Steak House, to cook their famous grilled steaks; which was the perfect accompaniment to the Clubs delicious lobsters and elaborate food display.
The guests moved into the banquet room, where Jimmy and Ron Pace thanked everyone for coming. They expressed their support of Angela’s House and the work provided for families in the community. Patrick Fazio spoke of the recent passing of Arturo Pace. Patrick honored Arturo as a father figure and very generous person in our community. He expressed that Arturo had a soft spot for children and was very proud of this event. Bob Policastro thanked the Pace family for their continued support of Angela’s House and extended his thanks to the Golf Committee of Arturo, Ron and Jimmy Pace, along with the backbone of support and hard work from Joanne Douglass of Rinaldo Pace Law Office and Nancy Rivera from Pace’s Steak House in Hauppauge. All of this culminated with a performance by a comedian that had those in attendance, laughing up a storm.
Frank Lombardo took on the task of giving away the bundle of raffle prizes. Bud Harrelson from the New York Mets and Long Island Ducks helped with the Silent Auction items. He did an amazing job as we had great items donated by these organizations.
Angela’s House continues to be thankful for the generosity and hospitality of the Pace family which goes beyond words.
