The fishing fundraiser was a great success. The weather was perfect as the guest prepared to board the boat Fishtale at Captree State Park, www.Fishtale.com. Captain Chris Altbacker greeted each guest as they boarded the boat and picked a spot on the boat that they were going to fish from. This new fundraiser would not have been possible without the donated use of the boat by captain Chris and his wife Liz. Both approached Angela’s House with the generous offer to use the boat to raise money. Chris and Liz have a medically frail child in one of Angela’s House programs. This is a very kind gesture that will allow us to help other children.
It was 4pm and we left the dock. The ride into the bay was very peaceful. As the Captain found his first spot to fish the poles were ready to go. It was wonderful people started catching fish right away. We caught the tide change at a perfect time. The excitement of the first fish caught set the tone for the rest of the evening. As the Captain prepared to check other areas the gourmet sandwich platters from “The Garage” were opened giving everyone a great meal and a snack later as we had plenty of food to nibble on the whole evening.
Linda Farber was the winner of a gift certificate for the biggest fish.
The evening ended with the Fishtale cruising back with a beautiful sunset.
