    We welcome you to join us for the Candle Light Vigil with the Angel of Hope Statue
    We will have a candlelight memorial service for parents who have lost a child, of any age, for any reason. This annual memorial service is an opportunity for parents and friends to gather to remember these children who have left our lives too soon. Program scheduled rain or shine.
    This candlelight healing ceremony will be held at the base of the Angel monument each year on the first Saturday of December. After a few remarks, a moment of silence, the attendees are invited to leave a white flower at the base of the angel statue. The public is welcome.
    Candles and flowers will be supplied to the first 200 people
    Directions: Once in the park follow signs to the Veterans Memorial. Please park in field 6 to the end of the lot (north) close to the Harry Chapin lakeside Theatre. The Angel of Hope Statue will be close to the Veterans memorials

    Christmasville House Farmingville

    Welcome To The Christmasville House! We’re the Buckley’s (Dan, Debi, Chris, Steph & Danielle.) We’ve been decorating for over ten years. It all started back at our apartment in Queens with lights around the kitchen and living room windows and lights down the railing on the stoop. In 2000, we moved into Farmingville and now have two dedicated sheds to store our brand new Christmas display. Chris usually starts decorating in the middle of October to have it all ready for Thanksgiving night. It takes him 4-6 hours a day during the week and all of the weekends to plan, setup and wire all of the decorations. During the holiday season we collect donations for Angela’s House and last year we raised more than $1,800.00 and would like to thank all of Long Island for all of your support. Chris is responsible for everything. He has such dedication and that holiday spirit to do all of this. He says “Seeing a kid’s face light up with excitement and joy is such a phenomenal feeling”. Our Christmas display is on everyday between 5:00-11:00pm from Thanksgiving night to the first Saturday after New Years.

    On December 13th, Santa will be making an early stop at the Christmasville house where he’ll be outside taking pictures with all the visitors, giving out candy canes and serving fresh hot cocoa. Our favorite decorations of 2008 are the brand new computer controlled Christmas mega-tree and the New Years Time Square Building. Chris started the mega-tree project back in January ordering all the parts and soldering them all himself and taking almost two full years to complete his one-of-a-kind Times Square building it features a built in flat screen monitor showing all the classic Christmas movies. Our neighbors think we’re crazy but love that we have the holiday spirit and enjoy it very much. Chris is inspired by all of the people that come by to see the house. He says “When people shout from their cars or even take the time to get out their cars on a cold night just to see the display is such a great feeling of accomplishment”. Having his little sister as his helper, anytime she gets excited seeing a brand new decoration, Chris knows its perfect to add to the collection. We hope you’ll come and stop by this holiday season meet and take pictures with Santa and drop off a donation. We greatly appreciate everyone who’s made a difference this year and last year and wish everyone a safe and Happy Holiday.

    2. Once on Nicolls Rd. go to the second traffic light which is S.Coleman Rd. Make a left turn onto S. Coleman.
    3. Go the traffic light (Horseblock Rd.) At this lightS. Coleman Rd ends and Sheri Ct. begins.
    4. Go straight to 2nd house on the left. You can’t miss us.

    A Night for a Cure

    Join us for an enchanting evening at Oheka Castle

    The Angela’s House “A Night for a Cure” was held on November 19, 2009. This successful event is another way Angela’s House tries to help families that have children living with rare diseases and illness. The focus of this event was to both raise money and awareness for these diseases. The event was held at Oheka Castle, where their staff created an enchanting evening. The three hundred guests enjoyed the run of the entire first floor of the castle. Their Library was setup with a wine bar and relaxing area to sit and talk. It had poster boards made for each disease and illness the event was sponsoring. These boards were made by the Wheatley High School students of Old Westbury. The beautiful Grand Ball Room was filled with over one hundred large baskets. The parents and generous patrons in the community donated the baskets to create a wonderful Chinese auction. The exquisite baskets were created by the Mary Johnson and Linda Gladd. We also had a small group from the Hauppauge High School’s Orchestra, called Select Strings that was led by their teacher Mrs. Leah Paese. The students played during the cocktail hour filling the room with beautiful music. The guests were very impressed as they walked into this room and saw all of the beautiful baskets and heard the talented students play. Outside this room was the bar, which had a very impressive setup of silent and live auction items, that were donated.     The Hauppauge High School did a fund raiser called “Hands for a Cure”
    The students realized that Angela’s House works with many children in the community
    that have many different types of illnesses and diseases.
    The students wanted to create a fundraiser or help to create awareness and they came up with
    this creative idea

    Wheatley High School Helps Angela’s House

    The Key Club from Wheatley High School did a walk for several groups including Angela’s House.
    The kids did not let the bad weather hold them back. They setup the walk in the building
    along with food and a band to make the morning extra special.
