During National Nurse’s Week the “family” at St. Catherine’s Medical Center raised $7,000 to benefit Angela’s House, Hauppauge, a home for medically fragile and technology dependent children, established by Bob and Angie (a nurse at St. Catherine’s) Policastro. In 1989, the Policastro’s daughter, Angela, was born with severe brain damage and required a specialized treatment facility.
In response, the Policastro’s established the Association for Technology Dependant Children. Through their efforts, The ATDC opened Angela’s House in East Moriches, and most recently, Angela’s House II in Smithtown.
